Burton Fletcher was born into a hardworking farm family in Suwannee County, in North Florida. It was in this family, son to an entrepreneur father and mother, which he learned to appreciate hard work, dedication, and thoroughness in all things. The lessons Burton Fletcher learned on that farm and from his family still ring true to him today.
Burton Fletcher possesses a unique background. He served honorably for three years in the United States Marine Corps from 1970-1973, rising to the rank of corporal, E-4 during the Viet Nam era. During that time, he was trained as a military police officer, serving as a patrol officer at Camp Pendleton, California.
After receiving an honorable discharge from the military, Burton continued his education and in 1976 he received an MBA (Business Administration) degree from the University of West Florida. Four years later, he would receive his Juris Doctor degree from Western State University College of Law in Fullerton, California.
During law school, Burton Fletcher began his legal career as a Certified Law Clerk working for the District Attorney’s Office in Fullerton Municipal Court; a demanding job made more so by the pressures of law school. He taught business and law courses during two summers of law school in Florida.
Burton Fletcher thrived in law school, graduating with distinction. He was a member of Honors Moot Court for four semesters. His team won a second-place award for oral advocacy during his first semester in moot court competition. During his last three semesters of law school, he served as the Director and Executive Director of Honors Moot Court and oversaw an award-winning program. Additionally, he was also a member of the editorial board of the Western State University College of Law – Law Review.
During his last semester of law school, in 1980, Burton studied for the Georgia Bar Exam, maintained a full load of classes, and simultaneously was teaching a course in Business for El Camino College. He passed the Georgia Bar Exam on his first try, becoming the first person in his law school class to become a licensed attorney.
During the fall of 1980, he commenced fulltime employment as an instructor for El Camino College where he taught for 18 years (1980-1998) until he resigned to pursue other professional activities.
Burton Fletcher passed the California Bar Exam in 1981 and thus began an ongoing career in law and civil litigation. In this capacity, he founded his own general practice firm specializing in litigation under the d.b.a. of Fletcher and Associates in 1982. At its zenith, Fletcher & Associates employed approximately 15 employees and independent contractors consisting of attorneys, law clerks, paralegals and support staff. Fletcher & Associates assisted thousands of people with their personal and consumer injuries and civil injustices, until modifying the law practice, circa 2007 to become Georgia Signing Agents.com, LLC, later, Burton Fletcher, Attorney at Law d/b/a Loan Closing Attorneys.com, LLC.
Fletcher & Associates was known as an experienced and aggressive representative of its client’s interests with a record for serving others. Burton Fletcher, Attorney at Law, Loan Closing Attorneys.com, LLC carries that history but outside of the litigation arena now focusing exclusively on a multi-state law practice in the loan closing arena, with a non-adversarial posture, benefiting from the training and experience of an educator; the foundation of an entrepreneur; the wisdom of a planner; and the foresight of a professor; on top of the skills of a detail-orientation, high-achieving and talented lawyer who looks over the hill and diagnoses, and seeks to avert future problems missed by many other lawyers.

During an academic career spanning 25 years, Burton Fletcher was a servant leader in many faculty roles, classroom, department chair, college leader and writer; serving more than 10,000 students and professionals at more than four universities and nine colleges, before retiring from his academic career in 2004.
Throughout his career, Burton has been recognized for his service to others receiving distinguished recognition ranging from Outstanding Young Men of America, Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges (1974-75; 1980); and Corpus Juris Secundum award, “for Significant Legal Scholarship”. Burton has been recognized by his Department; Division; College Campus; City; County Government; State Assembly; State Senate; State Governor; and United States senators for his conspicuous and distinguished service and his many acts of beneficence.
